Upper Arm Thread Stripped
when installing my stock rear suspension back on, i noticed that one of the threads (not the bolt) is stripped on the rear upper arm. i can screw the bolt fine about 2/3's in, but after that i have to use a braker bar and screw it in more, but it doesnt get tight, it just keeps turning. what shouldi do? ive been driving like this for about 2 months now. should i just put some locktite on it? get it rethreaded? any help would be appreciated.
NOTE: if you dont know what im talking about, its the thing u replace when u get a rear camber kit. the parts thats stripped is one of the holes that you put the bolt in to fasten it.

hehe. i remember that bolt, it wouldn't go in all the way.. it came out fine though with no extra effort</TD></TR></TABLE>
yup it went in fine, and out fine, but it only went in about 2/3's way, and then i had to force it in.

oh the mounting point to the car?
so your saying u bolt 29 won't go in all the way?

well then yeah , you will have to tap it
and i would change the hardware still, you may not be able to see it, but i'd bet its damaged

well is it bolt 29?
and if so, you should fix it right away before it gets worse, like the attachment point being bent
and just getting a new bolt will not fix it,
YOU MUST TAP IT, this will fix the threads that are in there

when u look at the thread. its just the top part that is stipped. 2/3 of the thread is still in perfect condition. the screw went in smooth as butter. there was only about .75 cm left exposed.

ok do you know what a tap/die set is?
you have to fix the hole in the car, that is threaded
bolt #29 most likely damaged those threads
and you should also replace bolt 29

this is a tap
it will basically cut new threads into the whole, it is also used to repair damaged threads
basically you screw this into the damaged whole
instructions:
use some cutting oil
turn in 2 turns
back off half a turn
turn in 2 turns
back off half a turn
repeat till its all the way thru
what i would suggest is going to acura, buy the neccesary bolt
and then go to a good hardware store and get the right size tap
i belive the thread pitch is 8x1.25 but not 100% sure , if the bolt has a 14mm head, that should be right, but no matter what, its def metric thread pitch, don't let them sell you standard
same thing happened to me. thankfully only the bolt was damaged. i got a new one from honda and it went right in. this usually happens when you take out the bolt, it gets dirty, and you try to put it back in. either that or it was torqued too much.
