Are there any exterior clues that would be a giveaway to tell you whether or not a Turbonetics t3/t4 turbo is ball bearing?

spin it. It should spin very freely. A oil bearing turbo will need a constant supply of oil to spin freely.
This is not the best way to check if you've never spun a BB turbo, but it is better than nothing.
