It's probably surface rust eh? Just grind/sand it off?

just like Wallgreen or Safeway or Rite Aid,

http://www.polsteins.com/clrcallimrus.html

i used it to clean the back side of my back seats, you have to take off the round clipings with two plyers, but make sure not to rip the leather.

when you get the whole metal peice out, stick it in ur bathtob or somethin and rub a goodo amount of CLR with rubber gloves, make sure u have ventelation(it can make u dizzy), then let it sit for about 20 min depending on how hard the rust is, u can let it sit for an hour or so, then get a hard scrub(i used a scrub ment for house hold cleaning) and scrub the metal until u see the rust some off, it should be easy.
then rinse it up, if some yellow stuff shows up wipe it down with a wet towel, or u can use some more CLR. Rinse then dry and your all done!
