Hello all
I have a LS 5spd 110k.
My car seems hard to get into gear unless i'm below 2500-2700ish RPM's, this goes for all gears (2nd through 5th)... The clutch feels fine, i don't detect any slippage whatsoever, and additionally, i don't hear any grinds...
What am I looking at here? Synchro's (i doubt all of them are bad)?, replace the MTF & Clutch fluid ? Clutch/Pressure Plate going bad? Lets hear some opinions here.

Also, i've noticed that i'm also getting a 'chirp' sound (kinda like when you just chirp the tires) when I release the clutch once I do get it into gear. Any help appreciated.

That's your throw out bearing. Get some brake grease, pull the soft, rubber boot back and apply a generous amount of lubricant to your throw out bearing. Make sure the car's engine compartment is cool before applying. Oh, and don't get any brake lube grease on your hands, it's nearly impossible to get off.
As far as your gear changes, I'd look into Redline Synthetic or GM Synchromesh (semi-synthetic) transmission fluid. Do you know when the last time the trasmission fluid was changed? Over 30K miles?

open your hood, to the left of the headers you'll see a small, black, rubber sleeve that fits onto the engine block. that is your clutch engagement. gently pull that rubber boot back, and you'll see what looks like a ball/socket. apply brake grease to that point. (use a lot).

thats the problem
your symptoms of not going into any gear unless are rpms are low, indicated that your clutch/pressure plate are shot
i had the same exact problem

also another thing that could help a trans with a lot of mileage is to use thick gear oil. some of the older mechanics used to get sawdust and throw it in with the thick oil gear to help make it real thick, but keep in mind that was back in the day and prob is only a remedy dont know if it will solve the problem. i dunno bout the sawdust thing but thick oil gear-

DONT EVER USE ANYTHING OTHER THAT HONDA MTF (Or maybe other PROVEN fluids like synchromesh)
DO NOT EVER PUT SAWDUST IN THERE.
That is just moronic.

if it were synchros, it would most likely do it only in one gear.. and it will still go into gear.
Synchros are shared with one other gear, not all.
ex: 1-2 Synchro, 3-4 and 5-Reverse.
Clutch/pressure plate is what it is.

what makes you think its syncros?
just a wild guess?
i've done work on transmissions, and transmission internals,
his problem def sounds like clutch/PP related
