grrr bolt!!!!!
i am having trouble getting the rear transmission bolt off. There are 3 bolts back there and the one that is the highest of the three i just can't get a wrench around the bolt to get it off. The bolt is being blocked on the left side by another mount (i think) and a black box, not sure what it is. I don't know all the technical terms for all the parts
. I was wondering if anyone changed a tranny before and has run into that type of problem any bit of info would be appreciated.
One more question after the last bolt that i need to take off is removed is it easy to separated the tranny from the engine. any tech help or any type of advice please. I need as much advice or help as i can get.
I am new at this...first time taking out a tranny and all of the work has been done myself. It is taking me forever but it is a great experiance.
thanks

#22? I managed to get it from underneath. I think i just used a regular 1/2 drive ratchet and regular socket. I was a tight squeeze but I could get 1 click going on the ratchet. I took the rear mount bracket out so i could put in an insert. I didnt even touch that bolt the first time i dropped the tranny, so you might not need to.
It's been awhile for me, but I think I just took the whole mount off. I couldn't get at it either.
Either than or I did get that bolt off by doing one click on the ratchet for (seriously) an hour and a half. Ugh.
Sorry I couldn't narrow it down more. But I had problems with two of the bolts in the rear of the engine bay when I took out the engine, one of those two solutions is what I did.

don't forget to take the starter off, it has really long bolts that will keep the bellhousing from coming off if you forget to remove it.

i think the bolt that i want to remove to get the tranny off the engine is #32. I have to use a wrench because i cannot get a ratchet over the nut because there is black box and i think another mount blocking it. I do not have enough room to get a good grip on the nut with my wrench. If I am able to get it off does the tranny just slide off the engine easy or do I have to struggle to pull it off. should i have a jack supporting the engine and the tranny? This is what I get for trying this myself.
thanks for the info everyone
