Default anyone have a B20?

currentley i have a LS with I/H/E, type r clutch and GSR lightened flywheel. i have high mileage on the car so i don't think that much more performance is capable without a rebuild that would cost me an arm and a leg. so instead of that i oppted for a B20.

i can get the swap done for a fair price, and all of my bolt ons will be transfered to the new motor and i'm going to be using the LS tranny that i currentley have. i have plans for boost but what i'm thinking about now is the use of a JRSC.

i think that supercharging might be a better alternative becasue the B20 is nice off the line but weaker in the highend and with the JRSC, it should haul *** of the line. my question is if anyone has a B20 in their integra, and if so what route did you go? na? FI? or spray? i remember someone with a 2nd gen who has a B20 NA making around 200hp. also would boost be the best way to go? keep in mind that the internals would remain stock for a while. lastley, if anyone could help me out with a dyno chart that would be great. thanks for the help. and here's a pic just for *****

i think the b20 is kinda a poor alternative, the usdm b20 doesnt have substantiall more hp than a jdm typer b18, not even that much more than a usdm typer. if you wanted the b20 the higher displacement would only be worth it with FI. i say just bust the jdm b18 and boost it. it may even be less expensive.

he chose the B20 because of torque issues.

I would just keep the stock engine if it's still in good shape.

The extra torque is nice. I could make the tires spin at the top of 1st in the b20. With turbo...it demolished my tires in 3rd

My old turbo B20 setup, almost 3 years ago right before all of the "B20 hype" started. Was a quick setup with 11 lbs of boost, using a GSR tranny & T3/T04E turbo

All motor wise, with the GSR tranny, it was just as fast, if not slightly quicker, than a B18C (with same bolt ons) hatchback in the same chassis. But once VTEC engages on the B18C, it pulls better in the top end, but the B20 w/GSR tranny and chipped ECU (pulled very good from 4000-7000 rpms) was no slouch.

I am actually planning a B20z swap of my own. If you want to go FI with the B20 then trubo is the obvious answer. If you want to go NA then I would just add a B16 head

Dude... I did read the post, and it did not say there was anything wrong, except high mileage and a little oil lost when changing oil. His engine only has ~127,325.5 miles when converted from what he stated 205,000km, that's why I said what I said in my post.

I may be able to help

After i blew my gsr motor I swapped in a b20vtec(b20b/b16 head) gsr tranny, all motor the car was noticable faster than the gsr was. I love d it, however i needed more. I then purchased an m62 JRSC, the car was okay, down low, mid was nice, ut top end was I then opted to go Turbo, Revhard 2c kit, 6.5 psi, I was very pleased, untuned, runny very rich with a shitty(i mena shitty fuel setup, I managed to make 226/190. Car ran 8.80's in the 1/8 mile

If you do it right you cant really go wrong with a b20 vtec, from you post it sounds like your looking into b20 non vtech, but I would recommend looking into b20 vtec to get the best platform to start with no matter what method of power you look into.

so does that mean that i'd be loosing out on alot of power if i don't opt for a vtec head? i plan on going the FI route, to me the JRSC sounds good because it'll be nice for low to mid range power, as that's where the B20's power is at.

if i do choose to put a vtec head on it, how will it hold up with FI? or will i be blowing head gaskets every week? also what precautions should i take when adding the vtec head while the car is FI'd? thanks in advance.
