Default Bottom line... built B20 or B16 (R/S ratio's)

Which is better for boost, I know the stock B20 bottom end is better, but I am building up the motor so that is not an issue. I hear alot of talk about the rod stroke ratios actually hurting performance on the B20. So, bottom line which would be a better canidate to build up for boost, and still have good reliablity for daily driving. thanks for any help, and yes this is my first post

if you are gonna build it, use a ls with sleeves instead of a b20, the b20/ls 1.54 r/r is fine. an 84mm ls will make alot more hp/tq then a b16a.

This would be a daily/weekend driven vehicle, my goals as far as hp is at least 375 range and I would like to run at least low 12's mid 11's... reasonable????

what kind of budget are you working with? the bored/sleeved ls will be a better choice than the b20 like tech43 said. that way you have the 2 liter, plus its sleeved...better for boost. 375whp is reasonable as long as you are willing to put some money into the build (don't cut corners), and tuning (tuning is one of the most important parts). i would take the time to sit down and plan out everything you want to accomplish, and plan a reasonable budget with at least $1000 extra for unexpected expenses. i am spending about a year saving, and planning. i really want to get it right the first time. good luck man. if you need any extra help, pm me, and i will do whatever i can to help you out.

peace

I am in the air force and I just re-enlisted and got a huge bonus, so I am setting a good chunk of that away to build my motor when I return to the motherland. Thanks for the info, I probably will be building a ls/vtec with sleeves overbored, I friend of mine just got a ls bottom end here for his car for like 50 bucks, so I guess we will be going to get another. again thanks for the info ninefivehatch
