they should have raced in the 1/4 mile not the 1/8 i think the civic would have inched it out

Great show. Both cars had the power but the civic i think could have ran a whole lot better she just needs more seat time. good work on both teams part though. "i hate these ******* cars" best line eva. there needs to be a series.

I think the civic would have held out on the dsm if it was 1/4 mile to.... But what i noticed was.. The civic was running Peg legged... I would have had a LSD in there knowning i was up against a awd car.

But i did like the show. I hope they advance to the 1/4 mile running instead of 8th mile.

that also wasnt fair that they choose a 1/8 mile track where the AWD eclipse shines

Though I am a DSM guy I didn't think that the race was all that great. She really needed more seat time. I would rather the rece be close and even the DSM lose so long as the race was better matched. The Talon does have a clear advantage in the traction dept, but she was on slicks so that should level the playing field out a whole lot.

He was on slicks and I think that hurt him more than help because he broke an axel and ran the remainder of the race FWD (but still toting the weight and bs of AWD drive train)

Anyways it was a really cool show overall I hope they got the viewership to make it a series. It was put together really well.

to both teams for their efforts. DSM or Honda it was cool and we need some more.

I would have liked to see Lanny drive the car...

Loved that car (Lanny Higa's 92 Hatch) and still do, even before alpha numeric sponsored it.

I still remember when he used to race his street hatch in the hot rod class (I don't remember what they used to call that class). Did pretty well also

I thought the show was cool. I kinda figured the talon was going to win it, being 1/8th mile. I saw the Laskey racing shirt Leila was wearing at the beginning of the show. Hope they do more.

this should be a very BUSY thread tonight! great show very well put together. did the whole build this in this amount of time and see who did it better format. very cool how they showed the advantages/disadvantages of each car and explained how each upgrade worked. TAKE THAT MTV!! i liked it alot. congrats to leila and obie (aka TIGER lol).
NOTE TO DISCOVERY: give the autolink crew a show!! just tape them hanging out building cars and drinking beers and dr charles being funny. im thinking it should be called AMERICAN IMPORT.

Can you say peg leg? 9.60 in the 1/8th on a turbo b16? Serious traction issue.

do we really need three posts in one forum about a terrible show??

from the other thread:

the show sucked, plain and simple. i call it like i see it, everyone knows that.........sorry to offend.
focusing on the street racing was mistake #1. and the civic and the talon should have run better. i understand the drivers needed more time, but i think they probably had plenty of street time in between the build and the race. on the civic side, everyone knows lany higa can build a sick street car. but on the talon side, i don't care who "dr charles" is. he might be able to build a decent honda, but the parts used on the talon were rediculous. M&H slicks all the way around?? yea, if your sheppard. give me $10,000 and a clean talon and it will run 10's on street tires easy......on street tires.

pretty much a waste of an hour. discovery channel......back to the drawing board.
