Bseries motors are going to offer you more parts... and in my opinion alot easier to work on...

both motors are very strong thou.

Same exact setup & installation procedures as doing a swap into an EG Civic (same engine bay layout & dimensions).

Why is it stronger ? Please back this up. As for rarity...I know there aren't any JDM R motors here...but that varies from place to place.

If I remember off the top of my head...the JDM B18C is rated at 210 ps and 127 lb/ft of torque. The JDM H22A is 220 ps and 156lb/ft of torque.

So I am seeing no GREAT advantage there...the H22 is heavier, and as stated, there are probably more available parts for the B18C. But in the end, do what you want to do. And do what is going to compliment your driving lifestyle also. i.e. road racing, daily driven car...etc.

I think you should buy my engine. And yes, B series is the way to go, it's lighter which not only cuts down on total vehicle weight, but also helps balance the car better. Also your options aren't as limited as they are with an H series and parts for the B series are usually a bit cheaper.

If you want torque....a 4 cylinder should not be your starting platform.

i got the same delimma. i also have a 95 GSR and want to either just get another GSR motor or go ahead and get an H22.

it really depends though. here in cali, if i can't pass smog with an H22, i will go with the B18C1. and also, there are a lot more parts for any B-series than the H22. H22 has more low end torque, and like LOSERboy said, torque IS what make you accerlerates and HP give you top speed.

i need to know if i have to buy any other extra parts for my integra to make this H22 fit in my car. i know that i need at least a motor mount kit. as for another B18C1, it will just drop right in, but probably more money for that motor. damn, decisions decisions....

well the swap as a whole really isn't difficult......Im not sure if hasport changed up the h22 mounts but on our friends swap we had to completely remove the passenger side mount on the car.....you've also have to cut a hole where your existing shifter is for the new shifter linkage. other than that everything else is pretty easy....

as stated before, the h22 is a lot heavier. and with the parts available, the b series wil responds to mods better as well.

Not really, the h22 only weighs 80lbs more than the b series , take off a/c and power steering and thats even less of a weight difference so all that talk about going to make it so much more front heavy is crap in my opinion.

I know you didn't list it as an option, but personally, if I had the money and needed a new motor, I'd go with a K20.

What is wrong with your B18C1?

The biggest difference I would think about is price. H22As can be had for $1500 complete on eBay. ITR motors are a lot more...generally $3500-$4000.

Unless there is a serious problem with your motor I would keep it and spend the money on either a turbo, supercharger, or some Skunk2 cams/camgears hondata and some good tuning. Assuming you already have a decent suspension setup and good tires.

H22! i am currently saving up for the swap too! a turbo kit is about 80lbs so the H22 is about 80 more too, so it doesnt matter to me, im just concerned on doing the swap myself and im tryin to learn as much as possible. and there so many people with B18c swaps, H22 is kind of different!
I love the feeling of Torque and shifting at 8000+ rpms... stupid american cars all torque crappers red line at 5500. lol

LS turbo.... i wasted my money with a blown motor
