I'd build a Hyundai if they gave me a car, and the money to make it fast... hell, if it helped them sell just a couple thousand more of those crappy cars it would be worth it for them.

Just imagine what would happen if Honda got hardcore into the racing program (or at least our niche of it) and sold a turbo car off the showroom floor. they'd make auto buis. history!!

there was a guy in puerto rico that had a hyundai accent that ran 9.90's 2 or 3 years ago. later on he flipped the car in a bad wreck and was on a pass to run 9.70's-9.50's. now they built a tube chassis Hyundai Accent that i haven't gotten a report on what the times where.

**** if i didn't have enough projects i would love to build a "CROOKED H"

yeah the motor was actually the very weak 1.5 or something like that. whatever motor comes base model in that car. and the also had a slew of trannies. they actually would carry 10-15 trannies with them to each race. as far as what happend to the car it flipped over like 4 times in Salinas awhile back. now they have a tube chassis hyundai accent that i haven't heard too much from.

His name was Kurt Garmandia (sp?) if that helps.

if anyone ever took a look at the engine bay of his car, youd notice a total abortion. made me sad. but it was a SOHC 1.5

Im stationed with a guy that is originaly from P.R. and he has a serious sleeper. He has a Toyota Carolla I think it is. Its the little front wheel drive mid 90's make car from Toyota. Anyways his is turbo'd and makes about 300whp at about 20psi. The car only weighs like 1950lbs. or so stock! Runs an Electromotive engine management etc.

I have that Super Street issue somewhere where that Hyundai was featured. In my opinion the car was really ugly but damn was it fast!!

hey if they wanna dump some money in a PRO RWD or PRO MOD HYUNDAI TIB i'll step up to the plate. all they would have to do is "donate" me a shell/body and a motor.

I think that car that was in Super Street was an Accent. It was red and yellow or something. Ran on alcohol I believe called "La Pulga" The flea I think.

yes "the flea" it was... respect to PR drag racers

Roger Scalise's Hyundai deal went south because it was a V6 and as we all know NHRA Hot Rod does not allow 6 cyl. motors

yup, "the flea" was one of those cars that proved not only hondas made capable cars. believe it or not the flea had a 1.5 liter sohc "alpha" motor that came stock on the 92-93 hyundai Scoupe Turbo's, and the biggest acheivement of all was GET THIS, the car had a STOCK BLOCK!!!
