fastbrakes BIG rear upgrade.... niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
hey crew, got my fastbrakes 11.4" rotor REAR upgrade on the teg last week, and have a few pics and experiences to share.
the instal was a breeze, only issues were with my rear calipers that are grumpy and rusty, so they didnt agree with the piston being screwed back into the caliper cylinder to accept the new thick rotor. drats. oh well temporary setback. got a box wrench and a big wrench, put my knee on the other end of the box wrench to force the end onto the + of the piston, and in she went with a few twists. cool.
the mountign braket went in easy as pie, the caliper had to have a washer added in between the caliper and the bracket, each bolt (2), to fit properly.. not sure if I should hav escrewed th epistons in further or if the brackets were milled wrong. anyhow, the washers keep the caliper in perfect place over the rotor, so each pad is touching just right. Nice to doo an upgrade where I dont have to swap calipers and bleed brakes... messy task. this was easy!
test drive -they feel great, pedal height is up a little higher.
stomping the brakes there is a little less dive.... wait, a LOT less dive, NICE.
just what I had hoped for.
Highly recommended if you got beefy upgraded fastbrakes front kit, or any other big brake setup up front I guess.
fastbrakes comes thru with an inexpensive yet very strong performing brake upgrade... THANKS!

my set was $170. shipped, including plating the rotors to match my 2 piece ITR sized front rotors.
~available for $150 unplated.
dont know if that was a deal cuz I got fronts earlier this year or if that is a h-tech price...
pretty sure thats price with the h-tech discount.

Brian is the man! If everybody in the "industry" was as enthusiast friendy as he his, it would be mo betta butta for all of us
looks cool.................it's about time there was a rear brake upgrade.......the damn stock rear disk sucks ***........even if you yank the parking break it hardly slows the car at all.......to bad they didnt have a larger caliper and pads for it too...
Whoohooo!!! Parking brake turns will be so much easier, muahahahhaha....
There's no caliper/pad upgrade due to the whole parking brake mechanism...

I can make the same 11.4" upgrade for the ITR if you don't mind switching to the regular Teg rear calipers. The ITR rear calipers use a taller bracket, which won't allow it to fit over the rotor properly...Price is the $170 as the rotors cost more...
hahahahahaaaa, those Kyuokuyuogenikeninuuninin lugs are LONG!
I guess they will work even better with extended wheel studs, go figure
oh well, they were cheap and look/work like a charm, I am not worried about stripping them either. I never use over 80 lb-ft for lugs, unlike SOME people that let shops use 150+ and funk up their lugkey!

im putting mine on tomorrow...just finally finished the front 11" ITR caliper...and im very satisfied with that (well, not the work i had to do...but the ultimate result)
fastbrakes 2 piece 11" front rotors = $400.
used 2000+ prelude calipers w/ pads = $150. (great deal)
fastbrakes 11.4" rear rotors = $150.
total cost about $700 shipped.,
price can vary depending on needing pads, or finding cheaper or more expensive front calipers.
super dope deal really if you think about other options... this is dirt cheap!
Also, you can get a cheaper setup with the less expensive 'one piece' front ITR rotors too.... maybe go with them but then you could also get Wilwood calipers up front????

Just want to make sure, that's all.
The actual calipers are the same size, but the pads on the ITR are slightly bigger than the Teg. Due to the larger rotor, the smaller Teg pad would still have an advantage over the ITR setup, exerting more leverage over the rotational mass even though clamping forces would be the same.
I haven't made any of these for the R yet, but based on the fact that the system works so well with the Teg, I have no doubt the benefits would be extended to the R.
