Default civic and hatch a/c difference?

since summer is going to come up, i want to put in a/c into my car. I have a 95 si hatch. It did come with a/c, but its the wrong system, plus there was a leak in the condensor. I tried putting in a civic coupe a/c into my hatch, but found out the hoses won't fit the connectors near the passengerside firewall. I'm stuck now, don't know if there is a difference between the coupe and hatch a/c...or is it just that its been converted or changed? Was told that the condensor looks like it came from a 91 crx. Let me know what you guys think. thanks in advance.

how wide is the condensor? if its the same width as your radiator than it means is from a 92+. the 91- had a full width radiator and condensor.

1988-1991 Civic/CR-X A/C stuff won't be compatable with the 1992-1995 Civics.

Also what year is your car? 1995? you'll need a 1994-1995 A/C system ONLY.

The 1992-1993 Civics' A/C systems were the old-style freon type with totally different fitttings and compressor than the 1994-1995 which utilizes the newer R34-style refridgerant and different fittings and compressor.

Coupe, hatch, and 4-door all use the same components, but they are year-specific in terms of what I just stated above.

i know my system is different, because when i bought the hatch, i was in a hurry. I didn't notice how big and long the condenser was...it looked longer than the 92-95 civic's. Also, my friend and i tried on the 95 civic coupe hoses on my connectors near the passenger side firewall...and it wouldn't fit...cause he said my has to be screw on or something...different from his. Also that thing that fits to the motor w/ the a/c bracket...its different too, not like the 95 civic. Was told that the condenser looks like it came from a crx, because of the long shape by a worker at Kragen. I'm going to try to look up some crx a/c parts at the junk whenever i have time.
