Default New engine decision...

I currently have a B21A engine in my '90 prelude. The engine has 118K miles, and the pistion rings are going. Here is my situation. I would really like to install JE piston, rods, and rings in the engine I have now. Since the engine is old, it is maybe worn .25mm over. Therefore I can get JE pistons that are .25mm overbore, right? Then to install them I would have to resleeve my cylinder walls, right?

Would it be a better idea to buy a new B21A block, or low miles, and install stock JE pistons in it, or would I have to resleeve an engine that has 30K miles or less. If I then installed high compression head gasket would there be enough clearence? Detanation would be a little concern, but I am rarely going to race my car once this is done...

Any website, JE - website would be good. Or any other insight in this topic would be very great, thank you.

Note: Friend of mine has same car - same engine - and he installed JE piston, rods, and rings. He is now running 11:01 compression, he says the engine is running great, and this is what I am aiming for.

Since the engine is word and old, I would recommend boring .5mm over(.020" over) since that is a common overbore size for most companies. You do not have to resleeve to only go .5mm over, just bore and hone. No point in getting another engine, just use yours and have it bored. About the headgasket, why would you want to do that if you're getting pistons? Just get the pistons to whatever final compression that you want.

Alright, sounds great. I will plan on buying JE .5mm overbore pistons, rods, and rings. Have engine bored, and honed. Estimated price parts? Estimated price for labor? Thanks Jared...
