It's all about tires...
I was looking for winter tires and I am coming across an issue that I'd like some input on (for those that would know).
It's basically between two types:
The Firestone Winterfire
The Bridgestone Blizzak
Here's why I'm posting the question:
The Firestones actually have a better speed rating (T), while the Blizzaks have a speed rating of Q or H (which is typical for most winter tires). Also what I like about the Firestone tires is that they can be studded for harsh winters. I know I'm going to get beat down for using my R in the winter, but it's my daily driver unless someone wants to sell a $500 beater!
Anyway, the downside is that the only available size is a 195/60/15 which is a ½ inch more then Acura recommends. Has anyone had a problem with this size?

Have you considered one of the winter tires that come in 195/55-15?
Michelin Arctic Alpin ($78/tire at The Tire Rack)
Nokian Hakkapolita (*)
Michelin Pilot Alpin ($106)
Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 ($108)
The Arctic Alpin and the Nokian are both outstanding on snow and ice, not as great when the temperature warms up a bit. The Pilot Alpin and LM-22 have better handling on dry roads when it's not frigid, with some winter capability (but not as good as the first two).
Note that there are other Blizzak models (MZ-01 and MZ-02) that are better on snow and ice than the LM-22, but I don't think they come in the stock size.
* - I don't think the Tire Rack sells Nokian tires but there's a dealer locator on the Nokian website; North American version is at http://www.nokiantires.com/html/map.htm
