Default 13's possible? Analyze timeslip, plus a few questions.

My friend took his hatch to the track this weekend for the first time this season. I wanted to get your thoughts on his runs. Do you think he has the power to hit a 13 sec run with more or less no modifications minus the motor?

Next week we're going, thinking of stripping all the interior we can. Taking out the right headlight, un-bolting the exhaust and removing the rear bumper cover.

One, do you think those "free mods" will help? Because we're not into wasting our time.
Two, with the car like it sits, will he see 13's with stickier tires?
Three, What 60's & times can he expect with a 205/50-15 BFG DR?

Timeslip:

Car & Modifications:
* 1995 Honda Civic VX
* JDM B18C (Stock)
* GReddy PE Muffler
* ITR Transmission
* ACT Street Disc Clutch w/Xtreme PP
* VX Wheels w/ 170/70-13 All-Season Radials

A Few pictures:

Thanks H-T

you will run 13's with traction. no problem with the bf goodrich expect 2.0-2.1 60 foots possibly better with the right suspension setup. anyways strong motor you got. those free mods will help for sure.

Well the suspension won't be changing.
It is,
Suspension:
* KYB Adjustable Shocks
* Neuspeed 2.25" Lowering Springs
* Ingralls Camber Kit

Do you think the free mods will get him into the 13's on the VX wheels & tires?

This is a friends car, not mine.

He can hit 13's on street tires with a better 60' and a little luck (the free mods should help). With the drag radials 13's should be easy.

I don't think he can pull off a better 60' on those little 13" tires.

DR's are on order. But with DR's, he doesn't plan on doing any weight reduction.
We only plan on doing the weight reduction and free mods when running the 13" street tires.

I beleive the take off the rear bumper will be good for at least 2 tenths. And then some weight reduction should be good for at least .05 at least. .1 if you take off 100pounds. Did you make the kybs as stiff as possible in the rear? try playing with tire pressure...also try feathering the clutch istead of dumping it.
Should be able to hit 13s even without dragradials

Yeah, I plan on taking out the f/r seats, and misc plastic (center console, ect..). I figure i'll shed around 50lbs that way.

They are 4 way adjustable shocks. I set the front on 2, and the rear on 4 (stiffest).

I have not messed w/ tire pressure yet, i usually keep it at its reccomended psi.

As far as the launch goes, I generally launch @ 55-6000 (8000 RL), and feather it through about 3/4 of first gear, then I'll put it down.

Thanks for all the help H-T, keep it coming.

Not interested in running slicks, ever.

DR's or bust.

why? with slicks you get to realize the full potential of your vehicle and how fast it really is.

Because we want the same time at the track that we have on the street.

That's what I used to say....until I tried a set of "baby slicks". Then I realized street tires are bullshit.
