GSR met it's demise the other night...
Well, this is heartbreaking to me. I recently finished swapping a new motor into my GSR that was out of commission for almost 3 months. All kinds of hard work and money and now this...
I'm driving with my girlfriend and another friend of mine in Worcester, MA to go see my buddy at Assumption College. Cruising down Salisbury St. going about 30mph, I start to come over this hill and notice that something is definitely not right. For starters, it had been warm out all day so all of the snow/ice that had melted made for some crazy run off down the hill. This occured around 7:30pm so all of the run off had frozen by now. The entire hill was glare ice, made for a great slip-n-slide. At the bottom of the hill, a Ford Explorer was parked somewhat in the road and partially blocking an intersection. In the opposite lane, there was a red Jetta that had slammed into a streetlight. Traffic in the oncoming lane started coming into my lane so I'm thinking 'ok, I need a game plan real quick'.
I started to apply the brakes slowly but it was no use. I couldn't move around the Explorer due to traffic coming the other way. I tried turning the wheel slightly to hit the snowbank on my right, but that was no use either. I could totally see what was about to happen so I just said 'fuuuck' and BANG. Ran into the rear end of the Explorer at about 25mph. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt but I didn't get thrown around whatsoever. My girl was wearing her's but she was sitting somewhat close to the dash and ended up hitting it with her knees pretty hard. My boy in the backseat wasn't wearing his belt but he was ok too. I looked forward to see my hood completely crumpled, so I knew at that point this wasn't good.
I get out of my car and go to talk to the Explorer's driver. Turns out he had rear ended the car that was parked in front of him on the side of the road. The first car lost control on the icy hill, which prompted him to slam on his brakes. Explorer rear ends him. The red Jetta mentioned previously came down the hill and tried to avoid the Explorer but could not. He slammed into the Explorer, and bounced directly off head on into a lightpost. I hit the Explorer about 30 seconds after.
While we're all talking, a Kia Sportage comes down the hill and sees the mayhem, and cuts her wheel, bringing her on 2 wheels Dre n' Snoop style. We all ran to get out of the way, but luckily she was able to stop before she got to us. We all figured it was a good idea to move forward so no more of this BS would happen.
Upon further inspection of my car, I was not pleased. I wasn't able to open the hood at all, but where it was crumpled you could clearly see the radiator support and radiator against my valve cover. The power steering pump was smashed so that leaked all over the place. Driver's side headlight was completely smashed backwards and into pieces. My bumper support came thru the bumper cover, which also got mangled. Both fenders were crumpled as well. My car sounds awful when started as well... might have something to do with the p/s getting crunched, maybe the belt is hitting something, maybe not. Massachusetts has a no-fault policy so that's good news since rear ending anybody ends up being your fault regardless elsewhere. I'm guessing I have around 3k in damages. I'll try to get pics up at some point, but I believe the insurance co. is having my car towed from my house this morning. BTW, I had to have the car flatbedded back from Worcester to Maine... $382 and a stoner of a tow truck driver...
This just sucks, I just got my car back and now this. My insurance deductible is $1000 so my parents and myself are flipping out over this, as I'm still on their plan.
entire car- I don't see how they could match new paint to the faded assed milano red paint my car currently has. I'll keep this updated and let ya'll know how it goes. Winter

Damn, that really sucks to hear that... I know how it is dealing with parents and insurance because I'm still on my parent's plan also. Good luck getting everything back together!

That really sucks bro. I am starting to hate living in the north east because of these past few winters. I hit a patch of ice last week and slammed into a curb. I bent a wheel (steelies!) and fuxed up my alignment. Glad to hear you're alright though!
ICE SUCKS!

Well, I just got a call from the insurance adjuster... and my car is a total loss
This sucks soooooooo bad, all the hard work put into it in the past month equated to this. They're only paying out $5300 - $1000 for the deductible, and I still owe like 3k on it. That leaves me with like $1300 to put towards another car. I have no ******' idea about what I'm going to look for now. I'm thinking about 2 cars I've owned before and loved... S14 240sx and an MR2... but part of me says buy another Integra. I seriously feel like breaking something right now, the damage didn't look THAT bad... I figured $2k-3k but not enough to total it. Damn.
