Default How To: DIY 90-91 wagon clear/ custom corners

I've been asked to make a thread regarding DIY custom turn signal corners by a few wagon owners so here goes.
1. You cannot buy(to my knowledge) an aftermarket clear/black/all amber turn signal lenses for 90-91 wagons, i.e. plug-n-play. CRXgator and a few others here have sold JDM and/or EDM turn signal housings, these are OE from their respected markets, not aftermarket. Well worth the money I might add IF thats what you're lookin for.
For those of you who desire custom turn signal lenses, keep readin.
2. I must've bought 3 styles of turn signals over a 6 mos period with no
luck. All APC
88-89 hatch
90-91 hatch
90-91 crx
Wouldn't fit, no way, no how.
I bought crx projectors and no probs.
Why didn't the turn signals work?
Well for some reason the front end of the wagon is slightly different than
the CRX and the HB and 4dr. I've tried interchanging a few parts @ the yard.
Fender angle and slope is completely different, bumper is close to the HB, and
the hood is wagon only.
Headlights apppear identical.

3. Tools: Simple hand tools really, a good razor and a dremel or bench grinder.
4. Adhesive: GE RTV silicone extreme/high temperature or any clear RTV.
USE CLEAR please. You have a less likely chance of screwin it up goin clear.
5. Parts:
a) Factory turn signal corners: If possible try to source an extra pair in case
crap happens. Plus it helps to do this @ your leisure without sufferin the downtime.
b) 88-89 civic APC clear turn signal lenses. This is the only lens that will encompass the 90-91 factory housing properly.90-91 clears are too short.
Pictured below are the 90-91s for that reason, avoid them.
6. Disassembly: Using a small, thin, flat screwdriver begin prying the factory lenses apart. Do this slowly and gently, if needed when you make a
slight opening-place a thin item between the lens and the housing and continue
down the rest of the housing until its completely separated.
Be careful not to scratch the inner reflective plating. If you do, find a "silver"
paint marker and touchup where needed.
Why be careful?
You may need your factory lenses someday. Keep em. I took mine off without crackin em so it can be done.
For the APC lenses follow the same steps above for disassembly.
Your goal here is to have the clear lenses and the factory housings ready for the next step.
7. Providing whatever treatment you wish to apply to the new assemblies wait until fittiment can be achieved with a dremel and or bench grinder.
Wash the factory housings with a mild dishwasing detergent so assembly will not be inhibited by dirt and grime.
Fit the lens against the factory housing, measure twice cut once. Go Slow!
Remember, you cannot add material back once removed.
They WILL NOT perfectly fit togetherso understand that the clear RTV will
provide the rest of the assembly help.
8. Use the RTV and place a small bead around the lens and seal it to the housing.
Use a simple masking tape to hold things together until the RTV dries.
Next seal the hole left from using the 88-89 lens with RTV, use your finger to wipe off the excess. You can always add extra RTV from the outside, once inside though it will be messy to pull apart, again use a small bead when sealing.
9. Make sure you sealed it correctly.
Enjoy
Note 1. If you plan on darkening the lens or blackening the reflective housing, consider a black RTV. I didn't do this but if you do keep in mind the appearance of the sealer between the lens and the housing.

Note 2. Please use caution, proper safety equiptment and common sense. What I am providing is a guideline I used to achieve this final product. I do not consider myself liable to anyone who decides to perform this customization and damages/injures their person, their vehicle, property or others. If any vehicle laws are violated please refer to local laws before continuing. You are responsible for you own actions. NOT ME.
Good Luck

Thanks guys, I was worried that this thread wasn't going to be 'accepted' well
since it would be considered frivolous or ricey. I was doin this writeup @ 3:30
in the morning and I had to get up for work @ 6:00
I am DRAGGING right now, I was hoping the content was accurate. Read it 10x.
Looks ok

And Thanks to all who allowed me to post here.
Too many keyboard assasins in the EF forum. Although, I'm probably one of em.
I try to avoid unnecessary flaming when possible.

Thx, BTW do you have an autoclave to form those hoods or do you have another source? Would that price hold true for a wagon? Carbon fiber anything would be pimp 4 my setup.

Edit: $275 Oh yeah forgot to add- that is one damn good price.
