Zex boxed opened?
Asking if anyone has opened up the Zex "brain?" Was wondering if there was a Fuel Pressure Safety switch inside seeing how every other nitrous kit comes with one. Or is that what the box does specifically. Also wondering if the soleniods insde are pretty much like anyother rebuildable solenoid on the market?
Just trying to do some research. Thanks

There is no "fuel Pressure safety switch", the box alters fuel pressure to manipulate fuel enrichment.....Yes, the solenoids are a standard type design.

FWIW, a friend ran a ZEX kit on his Accord V6. First night at the track after some motor work, he blew the motor. Had a Stillen FPR and for some reason, fuel pressure dropped while spraying. Burned up the valves in 2 cylinders and damaged 2 pistons too. Not the ZEX kits fault obviously, but a fuel pressure safety switch may have prevented this.

so the zex box acts like a vortec fmu with an electric solenoid attached?
not into nitrous but i like learning about the other evil whenever i can.

I'vev been trying to figure that out also, what i can tell is that you have to N2O solonoids on dry setups, one to the jet, one to the FPR which adds fuel pressure. The zex unit has some type of flow sensor or something so that w/ just one jet it can alter the internal FPR.
I could be entirly wrong though.
