First, you have to post it from a publicly-accessible website. If you don't have your own, you can upload it to a service such as Sony's Imagestation (click here for more info).
Once it's there, right-mouse-click on the photo to find out its properties including its website address (URL). Then you can include the URL in your post as follows (without any of the spaces between the first set of brackets):
[ IMG ]http://website-address.com/filename.jpg[/IMG]
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Below are instructions for Imagestation users to upload photos to their Imagestation account
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Once you have an Imagestation account, here's how to get the pictures into your account:
1. If you don't already have your pictures on your hard drive, then you'll need to download them to your hard drive from wherever they are.
2. Log in to Imagestation.
3. Click on "Upload Images".
4. Where it says "Select Image Files", enter the filename on your hard drive for each of the photos, and click on "Upload Images".
5. Go back to the Imagestation home page and click on "My Imagestation".
6. Go to the album where you want the new photos, or click on "Create a New Album".
7. Click on "Add Images/Video".
8. It should show you the photos that were uploaded in step 3 above. Select the photos that you want to add to that album, and proceed with adding them to the album.
Once the photo is in your Imagestation album, you can follow the instructions above to right-mouse-click to get its website address. Note that you should be right mouse clicking on the smaller photo as it's displayed in the album, NOT on the original large-size photo. So the website address of the photo should end in .jpg but NOT .jpg.orig.jpg (They're otherwise the same address.)
Here's the reason for this. If you try to show the original photo (.jpg.orig.jpg) then only people who are logged on to Imagestation can see it, and no one else can see it. If you show the album-sized version (.jpg) then everyone can see it.
