What did I do wrong?
Today went to replace my rotors on my 00 Civic Si, since they were getting down to the wear points. I'm using the Hawk HPS pads, which I used last year for 2 events on the new rotors.
Brake pressure is fine, no spongy feel, but it's taking alot longer to brake than I remember. Do I need to sand the pads down since they were accustomed to other rotors? I sprayed the rotors and brake components with brake cleaner. Brake fluid is topped off.
Any suggestions?

New rotors and old pads? Just give it some time. You can sand off that protective oil from the rotors which will be burned off in time, but mainly your pads need to wear themselves into the new surface.
