Default just installed exhaust, no secondary o2 sensor!

k guys i jus installed my dc jdm header, carsound cat , and apex'i WS II. i decided to leave the secondary o2 out for the time being. i was just wodnering if there will be any ill effects as far as gas mileage, performance etc.... odly though when i had my primary o2 disconnected before it always threw a code, but w/ the secondary o2 gone it does not....

oh yeh the world sport is extremly quiet, and little to quiet in top end.

It will throw a code eventually. You can ignore it as it does not throw the ecu into limp mode. I know, I drove without one for a year.

If you are running the jdm itr ecu, no need for the second o2 sensor.

Sometimes, on certian codes the ecu will go into "limp mode". It will think something is wrong and retard timing and lower the rev limit in order to protect the engine.

Some people have tried that and had no codes thrown.

In most automotive manufacturer EMS systems the obd2 required secondary o2 sensor is to detect for catalyst deficiency. (If the cat is failing, as in not doing its job.) It might take a while for it to throw a code.

CEL for secondary o2 problems do not put the car in limp mode.. so you're fine even when it does come on.. it's just annoying, and could cover up something else that would throw a CEL code..

Please re-read my post. The absence of the secondary O2 will throw a code and WILL NOT but the ecu into limp mode.

my gas mileage has been fine without one.. it shouldn't be a big difference even if there was one..
