Default Viper 2-way pager alarm range question.

I realize that this sort of question has been asked numerous times, but I feel that what I'm getting at is a little different than the others. Where my car is parked, and where my apartment is, if I press a button on the remote, the signal is out of range. Everyone says it supposedly has great range...and truth be told it's not THAT far away, but there are a few buildings between... Here's the question though, could it be that while the transmitter cannot reach the car to give it a signal, (small battery, little antenna); That the car could still get a signal to the pager should it be set off? (bigass battery, large antenna). If noone can answer I could test this myself, just that car alarms going off needlessly for any length of time defeats the whole purpose of making noise ("crying wolf"), not to mention is annoying and pisses people off.

Thanks in advance for any useful responses.

Range between receiver/transmitter can be affected by weather conditions, geographical conditions, including buildings and metal structures, distance, and the condition of batteries.

eh..but what I wanna know...is can the car transmit further to the pager.... than the pager can to the car? I.E. - Alarm goes off and sets off the pager...even though the pager can no longer disarm/arm the car. The point being that the car has a larger power source...and a larger antenna than the pager/clicker.

Or am I completely off?

make sure that your antenna has a clear shot through the windsheild, ie not obstructed by tint, or vinyl
and the antenna wire can not be bundled up, it needs to be run so that it isn't folded over more than once, or will lessen range ( as told by a viper tech)
if you want to be sure that your car is in range, have a friend set it off wile youre in your apartment, and see if the remote responds

^ Yes. But that shouldn't become a problem until you are at the limit of transmitter's "send" range.

anyway I can modify the antenna to extend range? Does the "Range Extender" accessory they offer even apply to a 2-way?

bumping this back up because this is a good question..
I just got my 790xv installed.. and i cant find the antennae anywhere on the windows, but i get great range. I dunno where the installers but it.

Back to topic though, is the range going from the car to the transmitter greater than the range from transmitter to the car? I parked a few blocks away and the remote said it was still receiving a signal, but it wasnt able to transmit a signal to the car.

Yes thats right, car to pager has a much larger distance than pager to car; but thats what you want to happen.
