Opinions on MOTOR MOUNT INSERTS for ITR????.....
Been thinking about ordering the Energy Suspension motor mount inserts for my R. I would like less engine slop and crisper shifting. I already switched out the tranny-shifter linkage bushing. I know the R already comes with stiffened mounts, but anyone here have any opinions on these mounts for our cars?
thanks!
PS- i'm planning on probebly leaving one of the mounts out of the set. i found on my previous prelude by leaving the rear mount out, it basically got rid of all the vibration at idle while retaining it's job.
thanks!

The rear mount is the reason for the slop. Put the rear insert on.
I just got the rear one installed on tonight and the vibration isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Edited - Just for Danny boy.

I had all 3 of the ES mounts on my last turbo motor and BOY am I glad I took them out. It seriosuly makes your car feel and sound like its going to fall apart on the road.
Expect your whole dash in multiple locations to start vibrate everytime you idle, if your windows are down a little, they will rattle, the rear hatch will rattle, it will shake loose bolts in your engine bay, ect ect.
Performance wise they were an OK improvement. Now that I have a stock motor and stock mounts, my car is quiet as a roadkill.

I've seen a few installations of these, including my own R, where the results were different. My car had no significant vibration over stock, where another install (also an R), it was visibly obvious that the vibration increased...
I would rate them a
and highly recommend them

I have all five mounts done. It shakes like a huge horny vibrator. I like it alot, it feels like I am connected to the car. It's not for everyone, my hands go numb on long drives.

from the wheel or the vibrator?
from the wheel or the vibrator?
If you plan to one install the 2 torque mounts and now the rear one..
I would suggest you going w/ the Jim Fab ones. for 65, much better than any type of inserts. IMO.
