Have the KakimotoR on my car!! I have no complain on it, nice tone, unique looking, top quality, rare, and reasonable price.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who looking for an exhaust that is different from the Apex'i, Greddy, Tanabe, and 5Zigen which everyone else have.

what can you say... The Kakimoto R is 70mm(2 3/4") in the DC2 application, and DB8.

They are quite nice. I am using the Kakimoto R 80mm setup on my WRX and it has a great tone and not too loud. I'm very pleased with it. They are full stainless and yes they have the ONLY 70mm exhaust available for the DC-2 application.

I was interested in thier new lightweight catback... but I just found out that they dont have an application for DC2, or any honda for that matter

Thanks for the help guys

edit: by the way, Ive heard that there are diffrences in the 97-99 R's and the 00-01 R's ... When I called up APEXi USA.. and asked them about thier N1 catback.. They told me it wouldnt fit on my 00' ITR.. only 97-98? has anyone else heard this before or know if its true?

I heard that Kakimoto will have the new lightweight catback for Honda application very soon. I think it will be well worth the wait. For more infomation, give Morris@BPT a call at (604)325-1882, I am sure he will know more about it.

I've seen the real thing. In my opinion, welds are pretty crude and ugly on the cheaper models and universals. I haven't had any chance to take a look at the more expensive models as people usually find a better choice in that price range.

The welds are ugly on the Kakimoto?? You must be kidding. I have the close up pictures of the so call (by AJR Spoon EK9) cheaper models and universals Kakimoto exhausts. If anyone know how to post picture here, I would be more than happy to send the pictures to you to post it up here. And let people here decide if the welds are ugly and crude or not!!

Thanks PrjctDC2-R, The top picture is the GT Box universal muffler and the bottom one is the N1 universal muffler. They are the so call cheaper models or universal (called by AJR Spoon EK9) exhaust that Kakimoto has to offer. I don't see how you can call the welds are crude and ugly on those!! They look pretty nice to me!!

So AJR Spoon EK9, if these welds on the cheaper models Kakimoto muffler is crude and ugly to you. I would like to know what your comments on the welds that the TypeOne muffler have??

For the N1 universal muffler, different tip size is available. Email me if you need more information on Kakimoto exhaust.

The Type-One Exhaust is just the protoype.
Did I help you answer the question already AJR Spoon EK9?

Sorry, I don't have any pictures from behind!! (Why would I want to take a picture of the rear for a universal muffler anyway? That is the part it suppose to weld up to the stock pipe.) Also, I don't see any hanger on the pictures above? So I don't think I will have a picture of the hanger!!

Good call....my opinion was basically on the welds on the mid-pipe and behind the universal cans......even many of the cheap Ractive mufflers have very nice welds on the cans....

Still no clear picture of the welds on the mid pipe and behind the can. Can you not show them?

Prototype or not prototype.
We will be getting our so called "prototype" rear section bolt on next week for a few applications and we will be test fitting them.
We will see if our prototypes are gonna be ugly too
If so, we will ask Kakimoto to manufacture differnt ones!
Please speak when you see the production models. I also guess that the people here will be able to see for themselves how your bolt-on models are when there are CLEAR pics. I have seen the cat back production models on some of the Kakimoto's and I seriously think that the welds are crude and rough.
