Default Lost the wing today. Gained some tunes.

Like the title says, I removed my wing today. Removal was a snap. And I was right, DAMN she looks sexy now. I can't really explain why, maybe cause the back looks shorter, or because the new found plainess of the rear of the car brings out the agresiveness of the front... oh whatever. All that matters is, I like how it looks. Also, rear view visibility is awesome now. No more, "Is that a taxi or a cop...??" The plugs go in on tuesday, and the wing stays safe from thieves in my closet. Until I take her to the track, that is. I also installed my stereo this weekend. What a difference!!!! If any of you like music but still have the stock deck RIP IT OUT!!! Installation of my alpine head unit was pretty easy, I used a universal mounting kit from Crappytire. It was all the wireing for my speakers/deck/amp took so long: eight hours! I'm glad thats over with. Anyways, sorry for ramblin on like that, but I don't know anyone who really gives a **** about cars, and it's nice to know that I can vent here every once in a while. Thanks for reading.

I believe it's just 4 bolts and some adhesive.

Type R: Four 10m nuts and some double sided foam tape hold the wing on. Remove the nuts and cut the tape with dental floss in a sawing motion. You can't cut it all cause of the bolts, so carefully pull the wing off after you cut all you can. Peel the remaining adhesive off the hatch, wax, and your done.

Slo_Teg: Part # 91601-SR3-000. I have no personal experiance with the plugs as of yet. I get them on tuesday.

Not sure about the part number...

But.. the EG Civic plugs from the shock towers (up front) worked fine on my hatch.

They are located where a factory upper shock tower brace would go if the EG came with one.

Clean the paint off (most likely red ) and install.

Good Doctor - Any chance you want to get rid of the stock deck? I have some wiring harnesses just laying around, and I'm short a cd player for my truck.

Any pics of the plugs? If anyone else has some pics of alternatives they have used to plug the holes that would be great too. I want to remove the wing but I'm not going to until I have a way to cover the holes afterwards.

Is it alright if the foam adhesive between the spoiler and the body isnt there anymore? I think the body shop that re-painted my hatch failed to put that on.

The foam was replaced by some soft rubber on my car.

OK, lets see... I fuked around with my battery terminals for a while. Setting up a terminal/distribution block combo that would take three eight gauge to run the car and one four to run the stereo took some time. Then I ran 4 gauge from my battery to the back of my car. Getting it through the firewall was a major pain. Then I ran 12 gauge to all my speaker locations and installed my speakers and crossovers. Had to run my RCA's, remote, bass control, and CD changer cables next. Then I set up my amp. I took my time so it looks very clean, except for the wire going to my door speakers. If anyone knows how to get 12 gauge through the factory loom, IM me please!

NO, it's not ok. Your spoiler is now gonna rub against the hatch and in due time, you'll have nasty paint peel. The spoiler is held by only 4 bolt, so go to your Acura dealer, get the foam-tape (~$20 a piece) and do it right in 5 minutes time.
