This is the way I see it:
A true performance vehicle sacrifices luxury in the name of performance, by eliminating the unnecessary. A VTEC indicator isn't necessary and thus would not be found in a true performance vehicle.

The VTEC gauge is pretty rice IMHO. It seems to be waaay to tacky. A cool VTEC indicator would be something more subtle, like a like lighting up on the tachometer. That guage is just too flashy for only telling you that you're in VTEC... something that your engine should already tell you

I just placed a small light inside the factory gauge cluster, above the cruise control light. It's just a little extra from the ECU, like if it's sending the VTEC signal. IMO, I wouldn't pay more than $3 for a light that let's you know when VTEC engages.

who cares if vtec kicks in when your already boosted.

what makes you the judge?

they have some not-so-ricey Vtec lights at http://www.streetlightz.com but unless ur gonna rice it out i would stay away from stuff like that...but to each his own.
what would be cool is an oil pressure gauge that the backlight color changes when u hit vtec. less rice..........y do i always tell people my ideas before i do them? maybe cuz they are so stupid no1 will copy me?
u do that and u have a smoking led. either hookup the vtec solonoid wire to an led and the other side solder a resister on and the other side of the resistor to ground. i would pust put a genaric 194 socket in my cluster where one of the other stupid lights was.
Okay for once, Doluck is trying to set an new pace in the us industry, therefore they are trying to create items that arent yet created in the U.S., that indicator was one of their ideas, Sorry to say, its something i think APC =X is going to try to copy and make, They should of created this indicator with a oil pressure meter that lets you know if the selenoid has full oil pressure to go along with the cool VTEC sign.
to me I think its leaning towards rice, It would be a good thing to have the setup I described earlier becuase when theres a fualty selenoid, vtec crosses over and makes the pop but doesnt pressurize the sucker so that you get maximum oil into the certs.
