Default Hi Guys.New Here and I need help? 1:03 AM 2/7/2004 Reply Edit

Hi guys I have a 1992 four door civic DX and I probably have to swap the engine really soon. I want to keep it because it look nice already and is more confortable than a hatchback and to much people have them already. It has a 1.5 L engine. Should I go for a 1.6 d16 and turbo charge it or should I go for a all motor B16?
What you guys think will be cheaper and more durable with the time?
Thank you...

Welcome to Honda-Tech, search is your friend. As far as what motor swaps you're interested in, there are several platforms to choose from to suit your needs. It all depends on what kind of budget you are working with. A D16 Turbo would be a fun little car, but for the cost of a turbo kit and tuning, you can't go wrong with a B16 (unless you make a custom kit using junkyard parts). You could even go with a B18 or H22 if you so choose. It's all about $$$$. Search the forums, look around the all motor and forced induction forums to get an idea of which route you want take. Like I said, search button is your friend. Alot of the basic questions you may have could be answered by searching for them.

P.S. any pics?

How much money are you willing to spend? By the time you are done with a turbo D it will be about 2000, a B16 2500-3000. A well-tuned turbo D16 will be faster than a basic b16a swap. Do your friends have either of these swaps that you could test drive and see which one you like better? Another alternative, is to order a JDM D15B and tranny...which should be a bit quicker than a D16Z6. Good luck

Define "super fast." I know of plenty of turbo-d's that can whoop basic H22 swaps
