Default Hi Guys.New Here and I need help?

Hi guys I have a 1992 four door civic DX and I probably have to swap the engine really soon. I want to keep it because it look nice already and is more confortable than a hatchback and to much people have them already. It has a 1.5 L engine. Should I go for a 1.6 d16 and turbo charge it or should I go for a all motor B16?
What you guys think will be cheaper and more durable with the time?

Thank you...

Use the search feature. It will greatly benefit you.

As for my personal opinion, I would go with a B18 for your sedan. Good torque, and plenty of aftermarket. A B16 would be really torqueless in a heavier civic like yours. Plus, you can always go LS/VTEC later, when you learn a bit more.

. Personally, I'm going the LS/VTEC route, but a B18 turbo would be really nice in a sedan!

This is true. Ok, the consensus so far is Turbo LS, done for as cheaply as possible. Consider I bought a rebuilt B18 for 250 bucks cdn, and a tranny for 150, it can be done for really cheap!

Exactly why I said turbo LS, not Turbo LS/VTEC!

The only thing that concerns me about the turbos are the setups... They break a lot if there are not setup right. ANd this is my only car you know I don"t want to have the car in the shop all the time.

In that case I would suggest a basic, stock 1990-1991 LS motor. You'd need a cable B series transmission, the Integra ECU, modified shift linkage, etc etc. Check out http://www.hasport.com for some useful info on B-series engine swaps. Youd also have to convert your dual point injection to Multipoint Injection to use the new engine, whichever route you go.

These mounts are pretty much the best way to go:

Ah damnit, my mistake. I thought he was talking about an 88-91. Shoot.

To the original poster: The info I gave you was for an 88-91. Try posting your questions in the EG+ forum
