Suspension experts: Regarding the tie rod ends and squeaking steering racks
On the ephatch board, quite a few members have had problems with squeaks coming from the steering rack after having lowered their cars (some even have it stock!). It appears that the reason is because of the extreme angle at which the steering rod sits after lowering the car. I am curious whether there was a way in which the tie rod could be flipped to attach to the bottom of the strut.
I know that the strut is tapered, and some guys in the minitruck community have it drilled out and a taper is pressed into it, going the opposite direction.
My question is whether the tie rod end is even able to be flipped, or whether someone creative might have some alternatives.
Thanks.

A main problem that occurs with the rsx/ep3 is bump steer. Here is a little thing that would work.

that's interesting. I emailed them to find out whether this might solve the EP3 problems as well. Thanks.

You are the man,
Unfortunately the pic on their site is of the rear suspension. LOL!
You wouldn't know where I might be able to read more about this kit, would you?

Well you can always go to http://www.rsx-tuners.com and look around. That is hytechs site and they have a lot of parts for the dc5. Expensive, but well worth it.

I don't know about that site and their products, they have a picture of an intake manifold that is suppose to be the exhaust manifold.
I emailed them and he said he wasn't sure whether it would work for the Si, but that he assumed it would (i would assume so also, since the suspensions are nearly identical). I'm quite curious how the attach, since the hole in the strut itself is tapered.
yeah, you can turn the tie rod upside down, but it may hit that area below it when the car is lowered...easy fix, nothing a dremel can't take care of

yup, EXACTLY what i'm picturing. I think I'll attempt that when my backup set of stock struts arrives.
