Default Where to get ATS gear ratio kit?

I was looking for a shop that has the ATS 4.93 gear ratio kit. I know I can get the 4.785 on thepartstrader. Any ideas? Also any idea on price?

Are you looking for the whole gear set or just the final drive?

I think the final drive alone is around $1000, and for the whole gear set, it just too expensive for me to remember.

If you are going to do the final drive, make sure you change the clutch and flywheel at the same time. Also, I would suggest you get a LSD and change to a taller 5th gear if you plan to do any highway driving!!

go to www.RacingCraft.com email yasu. he has the most A.T.S. stock out of anyone. in fact, Roger Foo gets his gears from him. if i'm not mistake, it is $850 for the 4.93 gear. i just did the A.T.S. 4.93 final and A.T.S. lsd. massive difference compared to stock lsd and jdm 4.78. i didn't think the gear would be that different, but i can assure you it is. it is totally worth it.

I am sorry, but what is the difference between getting the gear set or the final drive?

well, changing the final will increase revs at any given mph in all gears. whereas swapping different gear sets (much more $$) you can fine tune your transmission for different race tracks. personally, i like the spacing of the stock itr 1-5th. that is why i opted for just the final swap.

Good Idea! We have ATS and Spoon available

By the way......the taller 5th gear will just screw up the ratios....you may have slightly higher revs in 5th but don't imagine a 4.9 to acutally be killer on gas mileage!

So what will you top out at with the ATS close ratio gears and final drive at 9500 rpm, if 8000 rpm = 107 mph?

yeah, it is something ridiculous like that, maybe 110 mph. i forgot the exact mph, check yasu site, www.racingcraft.com for exact numbers. you can't use the gear sets with a final. well, you can, but i hope you like to shift a lot.....

Seem like the ATS 2nd has the same ratio as the stock 2nd gear. So is it possible for me just to buy the ATS 1st, 3rd, and 4th gear? I want to keep the 5th for highway driving. Because I plan to get the ATS FD along with it. It won't be fun to top out at 110mph.

Yeah The top speed is really low
I remember racing with Yasu and he was in 5th gear topping out when I was in third
i would go with the ITR gearing and the 4.785 or 4.985 final
the best of both worlds i guess

ATS close ratio gearset + stock 4.4 FD = 121 mph at 8000 rpm
It's not that bad

How do you figure? No ITRs hit top speed at 8000 rpm.

hey 555, which car? his itr or his civic? the civic has stock 1st through 5th with just a A.T.S. final. the itr has a different tranny for just about every race. email me, we'll talk.

wow, I just read this whole thread and there is a lot of good info here, one other question though, I have a GS-R and want to go to the JDM final drive, so how much would that kit cost, not the whole gear kit, just the final drive? what is the stock gear ratio for a GS-R? and what is the stock gear ratio for an S2000? thanks
