Default better steering

Im not sure if any of you has drive the newer celicas, (00-03) but thier steering wheel seems alot more responsiver compare to the civics...

say a 120 degree turn, I have to turn my wheel about a full circle if not more where as my sister's celica can do it in a 3rd of the turn...is there a way to adjust this on our civics to make this possible?

get a faster steering rack.

I think fastbrakes/quaife is making a kit for non power steering racks.. anybody tried them yet??

did you just say "responsiver"?!
anyway, you may be able to replace your rack with a quicker ratio OEM one, depending on what car you have.
as also said above,Fastbrakes WAS working on a quicker rack setup with Quaife-haven't heard any updates lately,so i don't know what's up.
do soem searches-there's plenty of info on here about what swaps to what.

hmm guess I did say "responsiver" it was late

cool , i'll look around some more, someone from jdmcivic civic said that an ek9 or dc2 steering rack might be a straight swap into my ej.

you can do a few things.

I'm guessing you have a manual rack, which has a horrible ratio due to the lack of "assistance".

It would be easy to score a power rack...Teg if possible. And even better would be the 00 or 01 ITR rack, which has the closest ratio.

Fill the rack almost full with fluid, and run the power rack breather.

You get the ratio of a power rack with the feel of manual

Its not as good as your making it sound.

It will have a better ratio, but it will still feal like a power rack with
no power steering, and for the price of a new rack, or even the
price of a used one most of the time, I would just leave it. But
im not the big supertunner like most of you.

What are you talking about Elwood?

You've driven my car before, and the feel is great.

I can still parrallel park with one hand, 15 inch Azenis, and my smaller Momo wheel

i have the rack looped(don't even have a breather)on my coupe.on pretty sticky 205 tires(AVSi's),350mm steering wheel and the quicker ratio,it's only slightly heavier than my manual rack hatch.
