Default Im getting my car re-keyed

I don think any body remembers me but im the guy with the 89 camry who keeps getting stolen cus punk kids around my area have shaved keys. Im about to goto a locksmith 2morrow to re-key my car. i guess its going to change my lock around and make me a new key and all. I live in the san jose area, does anyone know where its a good quality cheap place to go for this type of thing, the place im about to goto cost about 40 bucks a lock and i have to leave my car all day. any kind of advice would help, thanks.

my friends rsx cost 800 bucks to rekey, but thats because of the whole computer chip thing.

I suppose any locksmith should be able to get it done

I think 40 per lock is a good deal. This is normally very expensive if you go with a dealer.

If you are having problems with your car being stolen, I would get this done as far away from where you live as possible.

most locksmiths are very good people, and are in the business because they like to help people and it is very profitable. Just make sure you ask around and see who is truly certified. If you are going to a real locksmith and not just a shop, and he is actually putting together the locks, your fine.
