Yes. Pull the caliper and rotor off and pound out the stud. Put the new stud in in and put some washers over it and a lugnut and tighten it up to pull it in the hub. Recheck the nut after a few miles to make sure it's all the way in the hub and your good to go.

now's a great time to buy a shop manual-it completely outlines this procedure, plus anything else you need to do to your car.

what year is your civic? you can't do this on the 96-00 models (front). you have to pull the hub. on 92-95 i think you can cut some of the head of the stud off and squeeze it in from the back.

yeah.. i took it to a shop. Not really a good idea...

i spent close to a thousand dollars (960 or so) on getting everything..

pulling the hub out, (had to get a new axle anyways) new bearing, new spindle as getting the new hub pressed in , broke it.... easiest thing to do would be to cut a bit of the stud head and slide it in there...

you have to take everything apart...i think that you may need some special tool from autozone, but I could be wrong..biggest pain in the *** ever. I cant think of anything worse to happen.

Just drive around on 3 studs, its not a big deal. I did it for over a year.

listen to me i've tried this on the front in my 96 civic. It's different from 92-95 civics. There is no way to get the stud in w/o removing the hub, I took the rotor off just to be dissapointed by the lack of room. Even if i cut more than half the head of the stud off, I couldn't squeeze it in from the back. It seems like on 92-95 civics I heard there was a spot on the bottom of the hub that had an indention that gave you just enough room to sqeeze a stud in. And to do that you had to cut half the head of the stud off.

I brought it to a shop and it was no more than a 100 bucks to replace the stud (i think like 80?)

Note if this is the rear... then I don't know anything about that

again,
maybe if you've got more than four lugs to begin with ,i might say it'd be okay to ride around with one missing until you can get it fixed.
when i first got my coupe,i cross-threaded one of the lugnuts,so i left it off.after about a week of driving around on three, one of the studs closest to the broken one one also broke.the wheel almost fell off my car(the side of the wheel that had both broken studs pulled about an 1" away from the rotor/hub,visibly wobbling about 3-4" as it was turning).i was lucky because i was driving through a parking lot when it happened.if i was going very fast,i'm pretty sure the other two studs would have also broken.....
take the spindle completely off the car,and take it to a shop with a press.get them to press it apart and throw in the new stud, then press itback together.shouldn't cost much since you're doing all of the labor except that part.
don't be a dummy.

Our local autozone did not have the attachment i needed for the slide hammer but if you pull the wheel off and the rotor and caliper move that **** out the way also the axle, then put the spindle back on hook up the slide hammer and start hamering it will come off put you will need a new bearing with this method. or just pull your spindles off and take them to a machine shop and have them press it out take it to the parking lot and put the studs in take it back have them press in a new bearing and put the hub back on. shoudnn't be more than 50 bucks.

you can do it on the car on a 96-00 but you have to take some material out of the spindle and you WILL not get extended studs out in or out doing it this method i have tried.
