you only need to use 10w30 if the temp where you live drops down alot.. like freezing temp... but seeing that your from CA.. i doubt thats gonna happen
Either 5w30 or 10w30 will be fine. I use 5w30 because thats what the manual says to use.

I also use Mobil 1 5w-30. I'm gonna try out Amsoil and Royal Purple in the next several months.
Anyone know how Amsoil and RP performs? I know many Amsoil people swear by it. (A lot of sub-12sec S/C-ed Mustang and Camaro guys.)

...umm personally I am using Lubro Moly 5W40 they're thin enough to protect my engine when I start it up under all weather in Vancouver. Also it's thick enough for most track day events.
I really wanna try out Speed Master though...all my friends in HK said they're great...

I did the same...I have heard from many it is not good to switch until fully broken in...
