question about OBD-1 conversion

You shouldnt throw a code.. The speedo cable goes up to the cluster and thats where the vss is.. The obd0 vss sends to the ecu so it will also do it with a obd1 converted harness also..

could you elaborate? the OBD-1 VSS is in the tranny and it is electronically controlled, if you dont have that one in the tranny what is to stop it from throwing a code?

Well your in the EF civic/crx forum.. Im assuming you have a 88-91 civic/crx that is obd0 converted to obd1 is that correct.. If it is then the vss is still at the gauge cluster..

mmmmmmmm Yeah...
mmmmmmmm Yeah...
i see where your confused, on an obd0 car w/ a cable speedo the speedometer cable runs to the cluster... then there is a signal wire that runs from the cluster to the ecu so that the ecu gets the signal.
Yup.. Actually the speedo even in an obd0 car is electronic.. Its just that the vss is mounted to the cluster.. So the cable goes to the vss and then output of the vss goes to the tach and to the ecu..
