dizzy clicks and shakes at random times....why?
i was in my car, and at the stop light I can here a grinding/clicking noise and pop my hood, my dizzy is shaking periodicly. Are the bearings going bad?? I have no clue as to why the distributor is makin noises
Prolly a bad bearing. Pull the cap off....
Do you see reddish dust everywhere?
Does your rotor wobble around even if it is screwed in?
If you answered yes to any of those questions replace your dizzy asap.

i am putting my new engine in my car next week. How serious is it? Can the bearings be replaced only?
Worst that can happen is itll seize while you are driving and you may possibly bend a valve or 2 so its a good idea to swap it out asap. Bearing can be replaced but if i remember correctly it cost basicaly as much as replacing the dizzy itself.
What I would do is find a buddy that can loan you a dizzy, if they have one laying around, for a week until you do the motor swap.
