brake...well....sorta...
will brakes work on a car that doesnt have an engine in it?...ive never givin much thought of it....but im ripping the motor out and keeping it at my house to build...while i install the other motor at a shop..but the shop is about 10 minutes away...mainly straigh..but with alot of redlights.....
so you want to roll an engineless car 5-10 miles??? on the road? Doesn't sound like a good idea at all...just get it towed. As for the question asked...i don't think they will work buddy...don't risk it!

drive car with motor to shop... take motor out and then put in another cars trunk... work on car at shop and motor at home...
simple
*edit* ebrake always works... if above doesn't work because the original motor doesn't run Call a Tow Truck.
if your too cheap for a tow truck tie a long bungie cord to a bike seat...then tie it to your front cross member or tow hook... then ride your bike as fast as possible...

I thought you were joking about pushing it to there.
Find a friend with a tow strap and a truck and try that.
The one time my D series left me stranded, we did this for like 15 miles.
I was very embarrassed, but it's always a good laugh.
