SOHC Turbo with White smoke problem? Any suggestions?
i have a 2000 Civic HB that a purchased. i have a oiled cooled garret t3 turbo and the motor is fully built.. the problem is when i start the car it seems perfect. when i rev on the gas, tons of smoke comes out of the exhaust. oil seems to be fine.. you guys think this is a head gasket problem? would a bad oil cooled turbo leake out white smoke out of the exhaust?

you could be just running very rich.
Or maybe its your heagasket?
Have you checked your oil, ldoes it look like nestle quick?
Does coolant have oily residue on top?
These are some signs.

the oil and coolant seem to be fine.. i dont see nothing unusual, thats why i was asking if it could be a bad turbo? the car drives perfect, idles good and turbo kicks in hard.. would driving too rich cause massive smoke out the exhaust when at rev?
double check the oil and coolant in a week. I would be definently considering headgasket. Is it just some white smoke or is it bellowing mounds of smoke. if its rolling out the headgasket is going. the oil may stay somewhat clear for a while but if the headgasket is gone it won't stay long. Also, you could check the plugs. If one or two are extremely clean, they could be burning the coolant and that could tell you.
