what's a good place to get a decent set of lug nuts then?

yup. aftermarket rims require a "tapered" lugnut, it looks like this \__/ where it meets the rim and the OEM ones are rounded like this sortah (__), bad visuals but yea. i've seen ppl use OEM lugs on aftermarket rims tho, not sure how safe it is.
