Extended tuner lugs on OEM wheels.
Specifically, Skunk2 extended lug nuts on OEM 2004 RSX wheels.
I've heard both sides of the story. Some say it's safe, some say it's extremely dangerous.
Input is gladly appreciated.

Most honda wheels require acron style lug nuts and the skunk2's are not.
It would be like putting a round peg in a square hole.

how come i keep coming across the issue that the gunmetal skunk2 lug nuts are for oem honda rims only because they have a ball seat.
^^^this is what they advertise in some places around the net.

Because people selling them are just wrong.

It's VERY clear from the photos on their website that the seating area is conical, not ball shaped.
Because people selling them are just wrong.

There is only one side to the story. Don't do it.
I wouldn't say it's "extremely" dangerous but it does not make sense. You are deliberately reducing the contact area that the lug nut has on the wheel, and thereby increasing the likelihood that it will loosen.

Using a tuner style lugnut to install OEM wheels is not a good idea. I can attest to this firsthand.
I've tried this and to re-torque the lugs the very next day ( and make a trip to NAPA for OEM lugnuts).
One of them was finger loose.
