Default d16z6 in 97' civic ?'s

Ok I just purchased a complete z6 swap thats extremely complete including the wiring harness thats going to replace my y7 engine in my 97' hatch for a while and I have a couple questions.

- I'm looking to use the CX obd 2 harness with an obd2-obd1 jumper harness and the p28 on the z6 engine.

-What I know so far:

the eacv needs to be converted to a 2 wire setup and I have the connector off the obd 1 harness to use so thats cool

-The y7 distributor won't bolt up to the z6 head but if i'm not mistaken the z6 can be repinned using the single 9 pin y7 distributor plug.

-I'm going to use the y7 injectors on the z6 head because they don't require the resistor box and because of the obd 2 plugs.

-Of course the vtec solenoid needs to be wired up too

What i'm not sure on:

1) What obd1 and obd2 sensors are not interchangable? What isn't going to plug up? ex. TPS, CTS, map, etc.
2) What have I missed?

Thanks in advance

0h just in case yes I searched, and I know it's illegal to use an older engine in a newer car. When I finish building the y7 bottom end it's going back in and the z6 bottom end will become the back up.

in most states its illegal to have an older engine in a newer car. dont know what the law is in texas, but you should check them.

Yeah I know, thats why I put that on the very bottom of my statement. There isn't any kind of emmisisons testing or anything in San Antonio. They don't even look under your hood. The z6 bottom end is temporary until I build up the y7 bottom end. After that the z6 bottom end is just a back up.

I'm putting a similiar set-up together right now. This could help if some useful info is given.

In Texas more than 75% of the inspections dont even smog much less care about the engine, at least not in this Red-Neck part of the state. good luck

I'm in the middle of Indiana in a rural area so I don't have any kinda of problem what so ever and won't in the near future. So besides the emissions, can we get more info on the actually set-up?

Is the obd2 harness used and modified to fit the obd1 motor with obd1 plugs where needed? ex iacv, map, dist etc? along with a obd2-obd1 harness? is that pretty much the gist of it?

Yeah I haven't done it yet but I think I have it all figured out. I posted this in another section and somone helped me out with one part I didn't know but anyway this what you have to do:

-Using the obd2 harness.
1)Repin the z6 distributor using the y7 distributor plug
2)Do the iacv conversion. Go here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=695331
pull down to IACV fix. Basically its converting from a 3 wire obd2 plug to a 2 wire obd1 plug
3)Wire the vtec solenoid to socket A8
4)Wire the vtec pressure sensor pressure sensor to socket C15 (at the ECU) and ground the negative side of the sensor to a chassis ground. The one at the thermostat should work fine.
5)Reuse the y7 injectors(some say they're 180cc instead of 235cc like most other hondas but i'm not sure). If you want you can use the z6 injectors but you'll have to use a resistor box and change over to obd1 clips
6)The iat sensor is (2pin) located on the back of the intake manifold on the z6 and on the intake tube itself for the y7 or any obd2 chonda. Pick which one you want to use and wire it up.
7)buy the obd2-obd1 jumper harness

Someone that I spoke to said everything else will plug together although I haven't confirmed it yet. That should be it. Let me know if anyone finds out anything else

Their both 240cc injectors. Why would I have to wire in a resistor box? Neither have one to start with. Good info! Thanks. That answered most of my questions.
