Anyone swaped DX tranny to Ex tranny?

Default Anyone swaped DX tranny to Ex tranny?

I have a 94 civic DX and i have parts from a 93 civic EX i want to put the tranny from the ex in my dx but i dont know if i need to swap out anything else to make the tranny work right like.. axels, cv joints, struts, clutch **** like that , can anyone help me out who has done this project before?!

See that exacly what i thought it bolted right up, but then i went to a guy i know who owns a shop where my Ex is sittin that i will be using the parts off of, and he wasnt sure if the front hubs on and 93 ex are the same as a 94 dx. so i dont know

it will just work i have a 99 cx hatch and i'm running a 93 si tranny.

ha i want to i just need to know if everything will be correct, i dont want to have it all apart and have to order parts just to get it on.

yups....i can vouch that its direct bolt on. even better to prove it i have a 94 dx motor with a 99 ex tranny. besides swapping over the bracket on the tranny its the same. if you have a 92-95 ex tranny then you dont even need to swap brackets....if you have a 96-00 you'll need to. but besides that its totally bolt on.

On 92 to 95 manual trans civics you don't have to worry about different axles & hub/knuckle. Only on 88 to 91 did Hf & Standard civic/crx use different drivetrain parts from DX & Si.

i dont have a ex but i have an hx which is almost the same. i love it. it bolted right up and all the harnesses and wires fit perfectely. but unfortunately i have to take it out again to rebuild it. but oh well. it was only 100bux

yups accelerates quite a bit faster. 3rd gear freeway pulls suck though..
