finally scanned my jdm b16a smog results from last summer...
not good....maybe i should just bust a ronald and go b16b lol...almost 2500 PPM of NO coming out of my car
...and i need to go under 726 PPM...not to mention i have to lower the HC and CO as well

my b16 failed the first time due to a 180000 mile cat, then went back with a new carsound cat and passed easily. thats in texas, but CA's smog requirements tlook to be about the same

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that any JDM motors would pass a Smog test in the US...hence the reason (on top of many other things) it's hard to get a JDM car street legal here. I don't know though, I could be completely wrong.

i always put a little 99% alcohol in my tank before i go and dog it hard to get it really hot ( the cat ) . i pass with no problems . barely registers.
I have never had a problem with smog so far. Its just the ref that I am concerned with. My jdm b16 runs cleaner than my d16. I just had the smog guy smog it as a si (1.6), and it was very clean. I was running a modified air box (with k&n), dc header, a greddy exhaust, and stock cat(140K miles). He said it was the cleanest older honda he has seen in a while. I believe that jdm engines should have no problems passing, with a proper tune up, and proper 02 sensor wiring. I have smogged it at a friends auto shop with flipped 02 sensors, and it failed real bad. Ryan
