Default b16a pr3 ecu on d16z6?

i just got a b16a pr3 ecu. i was wonderin if i replace it for my p28 ecu....would i mess my car? like the management or will this improve my redline? i tried it out and it red line 7800 but then i fear something might go wrong. Has anyone done this before? should i put the pr3 ecu back in or just use my p28 ecu? anyone??

well the pr3 is a b16a ecu........is it obd1 or obd2? I'm assumings its an obd1 pr3 since you can plug the p28 into your harness....anyways, I wouldnt recommend running the pr3 ecu. just get your p28 chipped with a higher redline if thats what your looking for.

A PR3 wouldn't work in your car. I'm not even sure it would start up. And there is no real point in running anything but a p28 on a relatively stock z6. What I reccomend is you either get a form of fuel management (Shell out assloads of money for Hondata or AEM EMS) or get your ECU chipped and run Uberdata, it's basically Hondata only it's free.

However, if you're just looking for another good ECU without modifying anything, you could throw a p72 in (Integra) but you're going to have a hell of a time with CELs.

I said I wasn't sure if it would start up, and believe me an OBD-0 ECU would not work in your car. Most likely it's going to run the default limp mode (3000 RPM rev limit, and rich as ****) which any ECU would do durring a malfunction. And stop trying to act hard Dien. I'm trying to help you.

i know this post is kind of old, but i had a crx with a d16z6 and a b16 ecu, it ran rich as ****, it does red line at 7800 rpms and you would have to let it warm up for about 3-5 minutes or it would bog down, even not hot rodding it i would only get 20 miles to the gallon

pr3 made the ecu in obd-0 and obd-1, yes there is a p30 but it didn't replace the pr3 in obd1...
