Compression Check
Engine need to be warm (operating temp) or cold (room temp) for correct #'s? As I don't have an ITR Helms, (only the Civic Si), what are the nominal compression psi for an ITR?
I have ITR block, Toda pistons, head deshoulded to give 12.0 to 1 compression.
Cold results
#1 225
#2 240
#3 230
#4 225
Shouldn't compression be in the 260's, 270's?

That's what I was thinking....kinda low. Oh well, I'll go take it for a ride and re-do it.
Anyone know what a code 21 is? Not in my Helms, anyone else?

I must agree, for a built motor your compression numbers are kind of low. If I were u I would get a leak down test performed. I have seen stock gsr's with 200 - 240 with stock internals, so u should be close to the 300 range.
Do a leak down test and see if maybe the rings u used are defective or worn out. R u burning a lot of oil? What rpm are you reving your car to?

I'm burning maybe 1-2 qrts per oil change, depends if I auto-x or track the car. I take the car to 9000 rpms regularly.
Rings came with the Toda pistons. I have 14,000 miles since the build, I do need to adjust the valves...was planning to do it @ 15,000.
Thanks for the info everyone, anything else?
