Default cutting fenderwells so tires dont rub

ok so my crx is really low on some 17s w/ 40 series tires. being so low w/ those tires and the offset of my wheels im rubbing the inside of the fenderwell. not the fender, but on the actual car itself.

i know alot of lowriders cut the fenderwells out to tuck wheel and whatnot so could i do it on my crx so i dont rub? will it weakin the integrety of the unibody or anything? and how much would i cut?
anything would be helpful

well my fenders are rolled and flared out. my tires dont hit the fenders themselves. but in the fenderwell. like the part of the car fenderwell not the body panel fender.

i took the fender itself off today to see where it was rubbing and found the spots.
its up where the plastic cover should be but i took it off.
i dont know any other way to explain it/

i rolled my fenders w/ a baseball bat. you jack up the car enough so you can fit the bat between the fender and the tire and pry upwards w/ the bat. i did it on front and back. i also did it really hard in the front and actually flared it out 1 or 2 inches.

so what you guys are saying is i can "roll" my fenders (ghetto style) by hitting it with a hammer/bat ?.... i would love to get rid of my rubbing and go down a good 3 inches.. im at like 2.75 now in front.. i can barlllllllyyyyyyyyyy get my shoe under my itr lip... i want it like .25 lower. .50 would be great

well you dont hit the lip of the fender cuz it will dent it. but if you do the bat thing and just push down on the bat so it prys up on the fender it will roll the little lip on the inside of it. and will help to make your tires not rub your fender.
