what tires for 13" vx rims?
ok if this has been answerd amillion times sorry, just lock it.
the search doesn't include 2 leter words so i was lost.
i just traded for some 13" vx rims, but im not finding any good tires, what do u guys run, and do u only run the vx rims because they look good? i mean what good is a light rim if the rubber won't catch.
give me some options. considering bg drag radials up from and some skinny snow tires in the back, but thats not practical for daily driving.
thanks

it doesnt matter the size of the wheel...its the width of the tire...
A 185 series tire gets 94% of the grip that a 195 series tire does...and the VX wheels are almost half as light y0

Under 22" with a 4.4 FD, mild HP setup= fast ET's times
Wider is not always better, feathern' the clutch and gas pedal is better!!!

would the advan a032R's in the size 215/50/13 fit the vx rims? or would the rims be to skinny. id consider running the 225s up front with spacers and the 175 in the back to reduce drag.
or would that be a really bad idea??
also how well would the S compound hold up for daily driving? would i be changing tires every oil change?

The wheel size does matter, actually. Usually, the wider the wheel, the better - it has to do with the size and shape of the actual contact patch, not just the rated width of the tire.
For example, a 225/50-13 tire on a 13x6" wheel would grip better than a 205/60-13 tire on that same 13x6" wheel, but would not work as well as the same 225/50-13 tire on a wider 13x8" or 13x9" wheel. Why? The narrower wheel will squeeze the tire and deform it, taking area away from the contact patch at the shoulders. A wider wheel allows for a better contact patch size and shape, since the tire isn't being squeezed as much - the entire width of the tread, shoulder to shoulder, is being used to contact the ground all of the time (given proper camber settings).

I've seen 225/45-13 Hoosier A3S03s (which are actually 235mm wide) stuffed onto a 13x5" wheel. Sure, it's not the ideal setup, but this was on an H-Stock CRX DX, where the rules forbid any wheels other than the stock 13x5" size. C-Street Prepared CRXes, which have no wheel size restrictions, use the same 225/45-13 A3S03 tires but with much wider 13x8" and 13x9" wheels.
