Default Chipping Ecu, engine running rich as hell????

Im running a chipped P28 on a B18C, gsr block with ITR head. I know when you chip a Ecu typically it runs super rich. Well im no stranger there i used to run a Mugen chipped PR3 when i was on obd0.

Im awaiting parts for startup but the conversion is done and my P28 is supposed to have almost ITR maps on it. Now ive heard that Skunk 2 and others run on the rich side. If it is true that the ITR maps were only modified a small amount are my chances running extremely rich high? I want to keep my MPG down here.

Thanks, Whats the best way to tune this?

Hondata

Or you could get an adjustable FPR to try and tune A/F that way.

An ECU chipped with the typical bootleg MUGEN or Skunk2 chip will run rich. An ECU chipped with a properly developed program will run the car better than the OEM Honda program. The MUGEN/Skunk ROMs are very similar, and both will supply about 6-7% more fuel than the OEM Type-R program. You can go to http://www.pgmfi.org to learn how to program it yourself, or go with Hondata and have it dealer tuned.

Thanks.

I have a adj fpr and guage already so i might tweak that a bit depending on how it is.

The program thats on it isnt a mugnen or skunk2 style one, so i hope that ill be alright, if its horrible ill go the hondata route and get them to tune it.

With my mugen program and fpr, i had to tune fuel down to 32psi to eliminate most of the bog. That was until i got a vafc of course.

When i was running the mugen when i started it when it was cold out it would bog. If i didnt let it warm up and i went past say 2.5K than the Rpm would drop and isolate between 500-1200 and bog. If i shut it off and wait 2 minutes it would be fine as long as it let it warm up first. The bog sounded like it was flooded, but it would only do it when it was cold. So im hoping that my chipped P28 will run the engine better when its cold. Thats the reason i converted to obd1, plus tuning. Im sure if it still is all screwey when cold i could tune it with hondata, and elimante the extra fuel it gives it during warmup or however that would work.

Thanks for info.
