we got the vtec head swap in my 97 dx... but we have to re wire the idle air control valve so technically its not hooked up an my car is running really slow... im guessing becuase it is in the limp mode it doesnt go much over 65 but if i get that idle air vavle replaced should my car runn better? any help

get it out of limp mode and it will run better

 

car runs best when it has all working sensors.

 

ok so the bogging down an the missing is most likely from that idle air control sensor?

 

sounds like your timing is waay off. an unplugged iacv shouldnt cause your car to run like that (ive driven fine w/o one)

 

well i have a bit of a exhuast leak to cuz we didnt bolt both bolts up to the exhuast piping an im temporally using a ex factory header til my DC comes in

 

hate to be immature but oh well... haha limp mode, my girlfriend hates when im running on limp mode

 

yea im just gonna call it the floppy mode lol

 

haha yeah i guess thats a good way to distinguish between the two
