Default 2000 EX - 1.5" Drop with 16" Rims

Sup All,

I haven't posted here in a while but I have been lurking periodically checking out the various discussions.

I got some 16" konigs a few months back but I am starting to get tired of that damn gap I see everyday. I am looking to drop it about 1.5". I don't want it slammed, I basically just want the tire to meet the wheel well.

I'm still up in the air about springs or coilovers but I think I may be going with springs because of the ride. Coilovers would be nice since i'd have the option to adjust it later.

I am not looking to break the bank so i'll be doing the work with a friend but i'd like to get something soon. Can anyone recommend something (springs or coilovers) that would fit my predicament. What else would I need to do to the suspension so I don't sacrifice too much 'ride comfort'? Or, will springs with a 1.5" drop be all I need?

Advice please? BTW - I did check the archived posts and much of the info only pertains to individual cars. I saw a lot of posts like "help me spend daddy's money" so that wouldn't apply in this case.

TIA

Tein S-tech springs, rated 1.9 front and 1.7 rear. To tell the honest truth, it didnt drop anywhere near that. Actual drop was 1 inch front and rear.

h&r. trust me go with the sport springs. $130 bucks, work quite well with stock struts and provide an excellent ride. They drop roughly 1.7 - 1.5 front and back. Ive had mine on my 98 EX for awhile now. No complaints. I have 17 inch rims and the wheel is right at the fender...perfect

Thanks!

Maybe I’ll check out those H&R’s. I am only thinking that drop may be a little too much. What do you think?

Also, can anyone tell me some good spots to get deals on some H&R’s?

Also, what about the H&R coilovers?

Do these compare to the springs?

Thanks again!

yea definantely h&r's. Their drop isn't too agressive at all and will they handle fairly well. I have them mated with some kyb agx struts. I would recommend not riding on stock shocks just because they won't handle as well and eventually wear out your stock shocks.

From what i've read on other posts, you should be good with your stock shocks if your only going with 1.5" drop.

i got my h/r's at kingmotorsports for 130. they were on sale i think and normally around 160 or 70. idk. But im using the sport h/r's with stock struts and the ride is muy bueno. I do plan of adding some agx's down the road a bit.

i found some at inlinefour.com for 145$.
i don't have them but i've done a lot of research on springs and i've found H&R to be a very high quality spring at a good price.

Thanks guys!

Sounds like that's what I am getting but I am still not sure if that drop will be to much. I'll have to try and find some pics of similar cars.
